Australian Hypnotherapists AssociationAustralian Hypnotherapists Association Dear Jesus Genaro: I have sent you an email about Affiliate Membership but have not received a reply. Because of recent concerns brought to my attention. The web site of The National Board of Professional and Ethical Standards has been brought to our attention by one of our members who says that he is currently in dispute with a Dr Brady that is arguing with our member that the Australian Hypnotherapists’ Association (AHA) gives 6 months membership to his graduates and that he (our member) does not know what he is talking about when he disputes this. I do not wish to enter into their argument which is more than just this issue. The Executive of AHA is concerned that you too are not under the false impression that because we are Affiliated with your Association that we give 6 months membership to your members (or any other training institutions members that may have linked with you). Since 1949 when the AHA was first founded it was decided that the AHA does not accredit training institutions and that all applicants for membership were required to sit exams for entry. We need you to make that clear to your Affiliate Associations, and if they advertise that incorrectly, to please ask them to correct their websites. By affiliating with Hypnosis Association’s, we all become a united group to do everything that we can to support each other and to bring hypnosis as its own therapeutic modality. We see it as sharing knowledge with Associations and their Members to keep our profession up to date. As we have mentioned to you before, we will be happy to have applications for Affiliate Membership and give a Certificate for your members to put on the wall. This shows that we are sharing knowledge. It does not say that we accredit their hypnosis knowledge, just as I do not expect you to accredit our members’ knowledge. Please confirm that you understand and that you will make the message clear to all Affiliate Associations. I hope that this translation site does a good job. If it does, perhaps I can get it to translate an article that you can use to make it easier for your Spanish people to read. Let me know. I look forward to your early response and advice that you will make it clear to all linked Associations so that they do not have the wrong impression. Good luck to you and your people for 2006, and I look forward to working with you for the sake of Hypnosis. Sincere regards.

Australian Hypnotherapists Association Bruni Brewin. Australian hypnotherapists association president.
